Indian Cultural and Wilderness Itinerary  •  14 days

Although this trip includes a visit to the renowned Ranthambhore Tiger Sanctuary, the emphasis is on absorbing India's rich cultural heritage.  After a brief visit to the Taj Mahal, two nights at Ranthambhore provide ample opportunity to see an elusive tiger before one travels to the fabled royal cities of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur.   From Delhi to the furthest reaches of Rajasthan, this trip provides an interesting cross-section of experiences of India's northern regions.


Journey Across Rajasthan  •  17 days

Rajasthan, in northwestern India, is India at its exotic and colourful best. The state is steeped in history and each city reflects the characteristics of the Rajput warriors that held sway there until not - long ago. The magnificent forts and palaces evoke images of India's past, which was every bit as colourful as the garments worn by modern day Rajasthanis. We have carefully sought out Rajasthan's most charming properties along a route that visits cities from Delhi to the legendary Jaisalmer and back.

This tour has been designed for those who want to experience some of India's wildlife reserves, whilst also savouring something of the country's rich cultural heritage. The emphasis is very much on India's diverse flora and fauna, but visits to cultural centres have been woven into the trip to provide a diverse travel experience. While primarily for avid birders, this trip has been designed specifically to incorporate the various aspects of India that have made it one of the world’s foremost travel destinations.  The Indian subcontinent is a birding hotspot.  Over 1,240 bird species (13% of the world total) having been recorded in the region. This number includes 141 endemic species.  The two-week long trip will simultaneously expose you to India’s rich cultural heritage, its fascinating social fabric and to its incredible diversity of animal and bird life.

Trek to Nanda Devi Base Camp  •  18 days

Nanda Devi, in India's northwest province of Uttaranchal, is the highest mountain situated wholly within India. Nanda Devi, whose highest peak rises to an impressive 7816m (25,643 feet), is a highly sacred mountain in Indian mythology and her name translates into "The Bliss-giving Goddess". The worship of this mountain forms an integral part of the religious life of those who live within sight of the mountain. The Wildspace trek goes as far as the east base camp, at an altitude of 13,700 feet, and is one of the most unfrequented and scenic trekking routes in the Himalayas.


Tamil Nadu Itinerary  •  07 Days

Tamil Nadu lies in the southernmost part of the Indian Peninsula and is bordered by Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The region has been the home of the Tamil civilization since 1500 BC, as attested by numerous archeological sites throughout the state. Its classical language, Tamil, has been in use in inscriptions and literature for 2500 years. Tamil Nadu is home to grand Hindu temples of Dravidian architecture, hill stations, beach resorts, multi-religious pilgrimage sites and eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We have created an itinerary to reflect these aspects of Tamil Nadu's character.

Khajuraho and Varanasi Cultural Extension  •  3 days

Khajuraho, in the relatively inaccessible northern corner of Madhya Pradesh, and Varanasi in far eastern Uttar Pradesh, are all too often left out of any trip to India. Yet both constitute vital components of India's cultural identity, and for this reason we encourage those interested in India's religions and people to extend their trips slightly to incorporate these two remarkable cities.



Jim Corbett National Park  •  4 days

The focus of this trip, Jim Corbett National Park, is arguably one of India's most beautiful wildlife areas. With a tiger population numbering an estimated 160 animals, it is an important stronghold of this endangered cat. The park's 600 square kilometers of virgin forest and jungle are home to numerous other species of fauna from the rare Himalayan black bear to the common spotted deer. For bird enthusiasts, the area is considered one of the best bird-watching areas in India, with some 600 species having been sighted in the park.
