Luxury Botswana and Zambia Lodge Safari

OVERVIEW

Botswana’s Okavango Delta has long been considered one of Africa’s best-preserved wilderness areas. This reputation is built on excellent wildlife sightings and arguably the best lodges on the continent. Zambia, on the other hand, is a diamond in the rough. Undiscovered by the tourist hordes, it too offers world class accommodation, guides and wildlife. This itinerary combines these two neighbouring countries, with a few days at Victoria Falls separating these unique wildlife experiences.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 • Arrival in Zambia
Upon arrival at Lusaka Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the Taj Pamodzi Hotel .
Day 2 • Transfer to the South Luangwa National Park
Today you will be transferred to Lusaka Airport in time for the departure of your flight to Mfuwe. Upon arrival at Mfuwe airstrip, you will be met and transferred to Tena Tena Camp, located a 1.5-hour drive within the South Luangwa National Park. Overnight at Tena Tena Camp .
Days 3 and 4 • Explore South Luangwa
You will have two full days to explore the surroundings with Tena Tena Camp as your base. The camp offers game drives with the option of day or night drives using open Toyota Land Cruisers with two tier seats for optimal viewing and photography. South Luangwa is possibly the best reserve in Africa in which to do walking safaris, led by a knowledgeable guide and escorted by an armed National Park scout. The guiding team is very passionate and will impart amazing bush insights not possible while driving in a jeep. Overnight on both nights at Tena Tena Camp .
Day 5 • Fly to Livingstone, Victoria Falls
After breakfast at the camp you will be transferred to Mfuwe airstrip in time for the departure of your flight to Lusaka. In Lusaka you will transfer onto your flight to Livingstone. Upon arrival in Livingstone airport, you will be met and transferred to The River Club. You will have the afternoon free to relax in the environs of the lodge. Overnight at The River Club .
Day 6 • Experience Victoria Falls
After an early breakfast at your hotel you will be met and taken on a private tour of the falls. After the tour you will have the afternoon free to relax in the environs of the lodge. In the mid-afternoon, you will be taken on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Overnight again at The River Club .
Day 7 • Fly into the Okavango Delta
Today you will be transferred from The River Club to Kasane in Botswana (a 90-minute drive). After completing the clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by a representative who will assist you with the arrangements for your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Chitabe Lediba Camp , located in the south-east of the Okavango Swamps. Upon arrival at the local airstrip, you will be transferred to the camp. You will have three nights to enjoy this region of the Okavango Delta.
Days 8 and 9 • Explore the Okavango Delta from Chitabe Lediba Camp
You will have two days to explore the south-east part of the Okavango Delta. Chitabe Lediba Camp has both morning and afternoon game drives to explore the breath-taking variety of landscapes, habitats and wildlife which border the Chitabe Concession. Afternoon drives usually return after dark in the hopes of spotting the shyer nocturnal animals of the Okavango Delta: such as genet, civet, serval, porcupine and, on the rare occasion, the aardwolf. Chitabe Lediba Camp also has two elevated platforms which can be utilised either for a ‘sleep out’ or as a game viewing platform by day. Overnight throughout at Chitabe Lediba Camp .

Game drives constitute the main activity at Mombo and the concession in which the camp is located is known to offer some of the finest wildlife viewing in Africa. There is also a fantastic hide 20 minutes from camp from which you can view and photograph animals and birds. Overnight on both nights at Mombo Camp .
