OVERVIEW
Kenya has long been considered the ultimate safari destination, partly due to the writings of authors such as Ernest Hemingway, Isak Dinesen and Joy Adamson, who wrote extensively about their experiences while on safari in Kenya. Reserves such as the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo and Samburu conjure up images of man-eaters, migrating herds and elephants against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. The mystique is well-deserved, however, as Kenya’s parks deliver some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. This short trip focuses on time in the Masai Mara, with a stopover at Lake Nakuru, famous for its massive flocks of flamingos.
