OVERVIEW

Zimbabwe is a hub for experiential travel for young and old alike. This short journey to four exciting locations around the country includes something for the more adventurous at heart and also something for the more sedentary traveller. Imvelo Safari Lodges operate some of the most interesting luxury lodges in Zimbabwe and this itinerary allows you to spend time at a selection of them. From the magnificent Batoka Gorge downstream of Victoria Falls, to the wilds of Hwange National Park, to the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, this journey exposes one to the very best of what this incredible country has to offer.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 • Arrival in Victoria Falls
Upon arrival at Victorian Falls International Airport in Zimbabwe, you will be met by an Imvelo Safaris representative, who will assist you to your waiting vehicle and transfer you to Gorges Lodge, located on the lip of the Batoka Gorge, some 10 kilometres downstream from Victoria Falls. You will spend the next three nights at Gorges Lodge .
Days 2 and 3 • At Victoria Falls
You will have two full days at leisure at Gorges Lodges to explore the Victoria Falls area. Optional activities include guided tours of Victoria Falls (both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides), helicopter flights over the falls, bungee jumping and gorge swings, white water rafting, river cruises and much more. Overnight on both nights at Gorges Lodge .
Day 4 • Transfer by road to Hwange National Park
Today you will be transferred to Hwange National Park. After entering Hwange, you will drive for roughly an hour before reaching Nehimba Lodge, which is situated on a 278sq-km private concession in Northern Hwange National Park. After checking in, you will go on you first afternoon game drive around the park. Overnight at Nehimba Lodge . Approximate driving time: 3-4 hours.
Day 5 • At Nehimba Lodge
You will have one full day at leisure to explore the private concession surrounding the lodge. No two days are the same at Nehimba and game viewing experiences are tailor-made to guests’ preferences, including game drives, walking safaris and night game drives on the lodge’s private concession in search of nocturnal species of wildlife. Overnight again at Nehimba Lodge .
Day 6 • Transfer to Bomani Tented Lodge via the Elephant Express
Today you will be transferred the 90 minutes by road to the train station where you will catch the Elephant Express. Once you arrive at Ngamo Siding, your game vehicle will be waiting to transfer you the short distance to Bomani Tented Lodge, situated on a 5000-acre private reserve within the Ngamo Forest Area of Hwange National Park. You will arrive in time to go on the afternoon game drive. Overnight at Bomani Tented Lodge .
Days 7 and 8 • At Bomani Tented Lodge
You will have another two days at your disposal to explore the surroundings. You will have various options being offered by the lodge to choose as per your choice. Overnight both nights again at Bomani Tented Lodge .
Day 9 • Transfer to Zambezi Sands
Today you will be transferred back to Ngamo Siding in time for the Elephant Express train back to Impofu, where you will be met and transferred overland to the Zambezi National Park. Upon arrival you will check in at Zambezi Sands River Camp. You will have the remainder of the day to enjoy the activities on offer at the camp. Overnight at Zambezi Sands River Camp . Approximate driving time: 3-4 hours.
Day 10 • At Zambezi Sands River Camp
You will have one full day at leisure to explore the Zambezi Sands from Zimbabwe side. Apart from game drives, you will have a smorgasbord of other options here, including sunset drifts along the river, bush walks with experienced guides, canoeing on the hippo-infested river and fishing for the fierce fighting tiger fish. In house spa treatments also available at an additional charge. Overnight again at the Zambezi Sands River Camp .
Day 11 • Transfer to Victoria Falls Airport
Today you will be transferred the short distance to Victoria Falls airport in time for your onward flight home.
